Pictures of Ducks, Geese,
and Coyote Babies

When you're talking about cute baby animals, probably the cutest are baby ducks. I've taken my fair share of baby duck pictures...who can resist them? Mallard ducklings are so sweet with their distinctive eye markings. Here's a pair of ducklings that I photographed just as they woke up from a nap...Of course, usually you see baby ducks swimming around...

Another of my favorites is pictures of baby geese. Who can resist their soft, downy feathers?

This past spring we had a family of baby chickadees coming to our feeders regularly. Here's a couple of pictures of mom feeding suet to the babies...

I've only seen baby birds in the nest one time. A swallow built her nest in a houseboat that I was visiting and before you know it, the eggs hatched and there were three hungry mouths to feed...

Of course, other animals besides birds produce cute babies. Have you ever seen a baby raccoon? They're pretty cute, alright! We had a mother and her four babies come through our neighbourhood one time. For some reason they split up and mom took two of the babies up into my neighbour's tree. Here's a picture of the baby raccoons in the tree...

I've been photographing a family of five baby coyotes recently. Let me tell you, baby coyotes are very cute! They're a lot like a dog's puppies...they play constantly. They're always wrestling around so it's hard to get a shot of them being still and facing the camera. One time I succeeded in getting three of them to look at the camera at the same time...

Like I said, usually they're running around...

And then finally, they've had enough playing and they all fall asleep in a pile...
